BRICK – Two Brick residents were seriously injured when their vehicles collided on Route 70 over the weekend.

Brick residents 24-year old Dashawn King and 58-year old Clara Boothe sustained head injuries and were transported to the hospital after a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 70 and Van Zile Road on Sunday evening, Brick Police said.

According to police, King was traveling north on Van Zile Road in a blue 2003 Honda Element when he ran a red light at the Route 70 intersection. At the intersection, King collided with Boothe, driving a black 2012 Buick Verano west on Route 70.

The force of the crash sent both cars spinning out and ejected King from his vehicle, police said. He was found lying in the road.
