Shore Area School Districts Announce Delayed Opening For Wednesday

OCEAN COUNTY – Taking extraordinary precautions ahead of a possible winter storm, the Toms River Regional School District and the Brick Township School District have announced a delayed opening for Wednesday, January 30th, 2019.

Students and staff will have extra time in the morning as the schools will open 90 minutes late.

Although there isn’t supposed to be any major snow accumulations, the rain falling Tuesday night is expected to make a slippery morning commute as temperatures will be dropping into the teens and single digits.

The risk of a flash freeze is quite concerning as well as black ice patches on road surfaces.

The district’s posted messages on their websites saying that the incoming cold front is why they’re taking the extra precaution.
