LAKEWOOD – Police continue to search for the suspect in a minivan theft that occurred at a residence in Lakewood on August 1.
The suspect allegedly stole a Toyota Sienna minivan in the early hours of August 1, later abandoning it on I-485 near the exit to Pleasant Avenue in Union City.
Police report that the suspect left the vehicle when it became disabled. The minivan was later returned to the registered owner in Lakewood.
The suspect later fled on foot after an encounter with a Port Authority police officer, reportedly heading east on Marginal Highway.
Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspect: a 30-year old male, dark skin, dark short hair, approximately 5’10” and 150 lbs., yellowing eyes and teeth, a tattoo on his right cheek, and last seen wearing dark jeans and a black t-shirt with a white graphic.
