BRICK – Police said that they are investigating a threat that was allegedly made by a Lake Riviera Middle School student.
The threat was made in the evening of September 5, police said. The nature of the threat was not shared by officials.
Police said that detectives worked with school officials to address the issue and that there is “no credible threat deemed at this time.”
“The Brick Police and the Brick Schools are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our students, parents and community,” police said. “Chief David Forrester would like to thank the school administration as well as those who reported the incident. Brick Police and Brick Schools want to assure the community that we always take such incidents seriously and will investigate all threats to their lawful conclusion.”
They encouraged everyone to report suspicious behavior or activity to the police or school officials in person or by using the WeTip link on the school district website.
September 5 was the first day of school for students, according to the district calendar.
