BRICK – Officials have confirmed no injuries resulted from a house fire that broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

All four local fire companies – Herbertsville, Laurelton, Breton Woods and Pioneer Hose – responded to a home on Joseph Byrne Drive at around 2:27 a.m.

According to officials, Laurelton Fire Company Chief David Bahrenburg established command and reported heavy fire from the structure.

First responders extinguished the fire without any injuries reported. Inside the home were four occupants and a dog, and they were able to escape due to their functioning smoke alarms.

At this time, the fire is under investigation by Inspector Joseph Sansone and Inspector David Bahrenburg from the Brick Bureau of Fire Safety.

“It is a proven fact that smoke alarms save lives. This family took action when they were alerted to the fire by the smoke alarms and escaped unharmed,” the Brick Township Bureau of Fire Safety said.

They thank the Fire Departments of Point Pleasant Station 75, Car 13, Brick Township Police Department and Brick Police EMS for their assistance.
