Motor Vehicle Stop Results In Drug Arrest

BRICK – After witnessing a transaction in the Walmart parking lot, police arrest a two Brick residents possessing drugs.

  On May 4, the Street Crimes Unit Detectives of the Brick Township Police Department noticed a hand-to-hand transaction between two drivers in the Walmart (Rt. 88) parking lot.

  Once the vehicles left the parking lot, police performed a motor vehicle stop on one car for traffic violations. Police could not track the other car involved. 

  An investigation resulted in police finding heroin, cocaine, used syringes and various other forms of paraphernalia. The driver was identified as Scott Butler, 58-years-old of Brick, and subsequently was arrested for possession of cocaine drug paraphernalia, and was issued traffic summonses.

  The passenger, Scott Butler Jr., 28-years-old of Brick, was arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin, hypodermic syringes, and drug paraphernalia. Both were processed and released on summonses.
