TOMS RIVER – A Brick man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in Brick and Toms River.
Gerald Zaffuto, 47, was arrested Oct. 6 and charged with burglaries in multiple locations that occurred between Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.
“Crime has no boundaries, it is very important to have relationships with other agencies working together for a common goal,” Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little said.
The Brick and Toms River police departments, who worked together to apprehend the burglar, said Zaffuto is connected with burglaries at The Bagel Exchange in Brick on Sept. 28; NJ Wine Gallery in Brick on Sept. 29; Delilah’s Den in Toms River on Sept. 30; Exxon in Toms River Sept. 30; and News Land and NJ Wine Gallery in Brick and Simply Sun Tanning in Toms River Oct. 5.
“Working in partnership with Police Departments like Toms River is an important aspect of police work. The detectives did an excellent job that resulted in the arrest of Zaffuto,” Brick Police Chief James Riccio said.
Zaffuto was lodged in Ocean County Jail with no bail set, and released Oct. 11.
