LAKEWOOD – The investigation into a home invasion that left a local couple hospitalized is ongoing and active, officials said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office continues to investigate all leads into the assault of Frederick “Rob” Robison, 66, and his wife Patricia, 64. The couple was beaten in their Eagle Ridge Circle home in the middle of the night Aug. 29. Both were hospitalized but recently moved to a local rehabilitation center, OCPO spokesman Al Della Fave told Jersey Shore Online.

“The investigation is very active. Leads have not run dry,” Della Fave wrote in an email. “There is nothing we will share publicly at this time for fear it will compromise the case. This is the reason for no additional info being provided, which is not unusual in a case investigation.”

It doesn’t help to have potential suspects know what authorities may know, he added.

It’s been widely reported the Robisons, particularly Rob, a former borough administrator in Roselle and Atlantic Highlands, are against the development of Eagle Ridge Golf Course into 517-unit residential and retail hub. He has filed two lawsuits to challenge that development and has organized fellow citizens against the proposed construction.
