Five Pets Perish In Townhouse Fire

BRICK – A fire broke out at a townhouse near Lanes Mill Elementary School, claiming the
lives of two dogs and three cats, police said.
A passerby noticed smoke coming from a home on 94 Primrose Lane and called 9-1-1, police said. The call came in at 11:24 a.m.
Herbertsville and Laurelton fire companies, as well as police and EMS responded. Breton
Woods and Pioneer Hose Fire Companies were also dispatched to assist. Ramtown and Point
Pleasant fire companies were dispatched for a FAST team and cover assignment.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes, police said. No residents were home.
Besides the deaths of the pets, there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Brick Township Fire Bureau and Brick police detectives
