BRICK – The Emma Havens Young School was closed this morning shortly after a fire was spotted at 9:10 a.m.
Students were transported to next door Drum Point Road Elementary School. However, the power outage caused by the fire didn’t resolve itself right away.
Emma Havens students were dismissed at 11 a.m. Children who couldn’t get picked up right away were kept at the Police Athletic League building, police said.
Drum Point school students were bused to Brick Township High School, to be released at the end of their normal day.
Police reported that everyone was safe.
