Drug And Weapons Arrests In Brick

BRICK – Brick Township Police made two drugs- and weapons-related arrests late Thursday night.

The Brick Police Drug Enforcement pulled over a vehicle by Lowe’s Home Improvement on Route 70 around 11 p.m. Feb 8 that led to the arrest of 34-year-old Phillip Tarver, Toms River, and Rajuonna Baker, 22, of Lakewood.

Detectives searched the vehicle and found 200 grams of heroin, an estimated $35,000 street value.

Detectives also found two 30-round high capacity magazines which were fully loaded with .223 caliber ammunition, and an additional 292 rounds; 51 .223-caliber hollow-point bullets; .380-caliber magazine, six bullets loaded and 50 more rounds; 99 rounds of .40-caliber ammo; and about $1,700.

Tarver was charged with obstructing, hindering apprehension, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of a CDS with intent to distribute over five ounces.

Baker was charged with possession of a high-capacity magazine and possession of hollow-point ammunition.

They are being held at Ocean County Jail.
