Cops: Man Was Drunk When He Crashed Into School Bus

POINT PLEASANT – A borough man was charged with driving while intoxicated and other charges.

Eric Loveland, 58, was being investigated as part of a hit and run involving a school bus in conjunction with the Howell Township Police Department Dec. 17. Officials said he had his 10-year-old child in the car with him at the time of the crash.

Point Pleasant Police Officer Robert Tobias charged Loveland with DWI, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless driving.

Charges are expected to come out of Howell as well.

Loveland was released and is pending an appearance in Superior Court.
