9:41 P.M. UPDATE: Advisory: The intersection of Brick Blvd and Rt. 70 is now open in both directions.
BRICK – A serious motor vehicle accident in the township has closed part of Brick Boulevard and Route 70.
Police issued an alert to avoid the intersection of Brick Boulevard and Route 70 until at least 10 p.m. due to a crash.
Police said Brick Blvd southbound is temporarily closed.
No word on the extent of the injuries but a caller to Jersey Shore Online told us that traffic is being diverted and is backing up.
