BRICK — A rapidly expanding drive-through coffee chain is seeking township approval to add a new location in Brick, continuing its push into New Jersey and potentially bringing new activity to a long-established shopping center.

7 Brew Coffee has filed an application to build the stand at 51 Chambers Bridge Road, within the retail plaza that includes Best Buy, Ross and West Marine. The site has seen vacancies in recent years following the departures of major tenants, and township officials have encouraged reinvestment.

Brick ShoreBeat was the first to report that the proposal will go before the Brick Township Planning Board on January 14. The applicant, G7B LLC, is seeking permission to construct an approximately 510-square-foot building within the existing parking lot, featuring both walk-up service and a full drive-through lane.

Because the shopping center was approved decades ago, the project requires several variances. Plans also call for a small refrigeration shed, new lighting, signage, parking modifications and visual upgrades to the property.

Founded in Arkansas eight years ago, 7 Brew has grown quickly by focusing on fast service and customizable drinks. Its menu includes hot and cold coffees, flavored “7 brews,” teas, energy drinks, sodas and shakes.

The Brick proposal follows the chain’s Ocean County debut earlier this year on Hooper Avenue in Toms River.

The public hearing is scheduled for January 14 at 7 p.m. at town hall.
