BERKELEY – The Atlantic Medical Imaging Foundation will be providing free mammogram screenings in Bayville tomorrow with their mobile “Mammo Van.”

Atlantic Medical Imaging Foundation’s Dr. Jan Astin Mobile Digital Mammography Van, also known as the “Mammo Van,” will be making its way to the Berkeley Township Farmer’s Market on June 25. You can find it at the Berkeley Recreation Center, 630 Atlantic City Blvd. (Route 9) in Bayville.

Traveling throughout southeastern New Jersey, the Mammo Van provides easy, convenient, and free breast cancer screenings for women 40 years and older. The van is a custom-built, 38 foot, self-contained vehicle offering the latest digital mammography equipment.

The Mammo Van provides a comfortable waiting area and a private dressing room. The mobile van’s radiology services are accredited by the American College of Radiology and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Mammography images are read by board-certified fellowship trained radiologists at Atlantic Medical Imaging.

If you have insurance, the Mammo Van will accept what the insurance pays. A prescription is encouraged, but not necessary. Patients should bring their script, insurance card and photo ID. If you do not have a script, you must provide a doctors name. Those without insurance will still receive a free screening, however they must be 40 years of age or older and must provide a doctors name.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. To make an appointment, ladies can call the scheduling department at 609-677-9729.
