PINE BEACH – The former president of the Pine Beach Elementary Parent Teacher Organization has been charged with the theft of over $14,000 in PTO funds, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
On March 5, 48-year old Jennifer Maguire of Beachwood was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Theft by Unlawful Taking. Maguire served as Pine Beach PTO president until May 2018.
An investigation into Maguire began after the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crime Unit was tipped off to her mishandling of PTO funds. The investigation found that Maguire made numerous cash withdrawals from the PTO bank account, which aligned with cash deposits into her personal bank account.
She was processed and released on a summons.
