Crash With Injuries Reported At Busy Ocean County Intersection

BERKELEY — One person was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Forest Hills Parkway and Grand Central Parkway, according to the Berkeley Township Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched to the scene around 8 a.m. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision with injuries. When patrol units arrived, they found a Toyota Camry and a Volkswagen Atlas in the roadway, both sustaining significant damage.

A preliminary investigation determined that the Volkswagen Atlas was traveling westbound on Forest Hills Parkway when it collided with the Toyota Camry, which was attempting to make a left turn onto Forest Hills Parkway from Grand Central Parkway.

The driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to Community Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries. No additional information on the extent of the injuries was released.

The crash remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about what occurred to contact police headquarters at 732-341-6600 and ask for Patrolman Fanara.
