LACEY – As he prepares to move from the Township Committee to the dais at 101 Washington St. in Toms River, his fellow committee members took the time to honor him for his service to the township.

Committeeman Gary Quinn, now known as Freeholder-elect Gary Quinn, was honored by the Lacey Township Mayor and Committee for his 15 years of service as a committeeman. He was presented with a plaque.

“Mr. Quinn has served the residents of Lacey well and has served as a mentor to his fellow committee members,” the township posted to its social media pages Dec. 14. “Mr. Quinn will continue to represent the residents of Lacey and Ocean County as a member of the Ocean County Board of Freeholders. We wish him much success and we are confident he will continue to represent the residents of Lacey Township.”

Quinn replaced Freeholder John C. Bartlett Jr. on the GOP ticket with Freeholder Gerry P. Little this past election, when Bartlett was forced to step down due to failing health.
