TOMS RIVER — A local restaurant on Route 37 has closed its doors for good.

The owners of 37 Eats announced the permanent closure on Facebook, saying the decision came after careful consideration. They thanked customers, employees, friends and the wider community for helping make the restaurant what it was.

The restaurant, at 2018 Route 37, was known for cocktails, a chef-driven menu and a casual setting with a modern industrial feel.

In their message, the owners said they were grateful for the support they received, from orders placed to kind words shared. They also said they were proud of the business and appreciated being part of the Toms River community.

The announcement did not give a reason for the shutdown.

The website also said that the owners are putting together a list of all outstanding gift cards and will post contact information on 37eats.com once they have collected that data.
