MANAHAWKIN – Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center recently marked a major milestone in its ongoing $31 million surgical expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its upgraded Sterile Processing Department.
The renovated space represents the first phase of a multi-year project aimed at expanding surgical capacity and improving patient care. Hospital officials said the upgrade will enhance workflow efficiency and support advanced surgical procedures.
The full project will include expanding existing operating rooms, adding two new surgical suites, and creating new pre- and post-procedure areas along with a redesigned waiting area to enhance patient comfort and experience.
Completion of the expansion is expected by early 2027.
