Coast Guard Rescues Passengers From Boat Fire

  LITTLE EGG HARBOR – U.S. Coast Guard officials worked swiftly to rescue several passengers that were aboard a boat that caught fire Tuesday afternoon off the coast of Little Egg Harbor.

  The vessel, a small two-motor boat, was found covered in heavy smoke and large flames near Graveling Point, U.S. Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light said in a statement.

  Assisting at the scene were local government agencies, Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, as well as a Good Samaritan who helped rescue all people on board.

  Photos posted on the U.S. Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light Facebook page shows a helicopter putting the flames out with water from above.

  At this time, there is no confirmation of reported injuries or an exact time when the fire was extinguished.
