TOMS RIVER – Authorities have identified the two women killed in a crash on Hooper Avenue.

Police said township residents 28-year-old Ashli Crespo and 36-year-old Vanessa Orozco-Carbagas died in the September 11 accident.

Crespo was driving a Toyota RAV4 when she was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 46-year-old man who crossed the grass median around 8:45 p.m., according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. The impact caused Crespo’s SUV to roll onto its side near Fischer Boulevard.

Orozco-Carbagas, a passenger in the Equinox, also died. The driver and a 4-year-old boy who was in the vehicle were hospitalized but treated for injuries and released.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues, officials said.
