TOMS RIVER – One woman was sent to the hospital with minor injuries following a two-car collision in Toms River yesterday, police said.

On Jan. 14 at approximately 5 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Church Rd. and Hooper Ave. for a motor vehicle accident.

Henry Falcon, 49, of Forked River, had just crossed over Hooper Ave. on Church Rd. nearing the driveway to the Exxon when the incident occurred. Traveling in the opposite direction, 59-year old Donna Straka of Toms River turned left into the Exxon driveway, colliding with Falcon’s vehicle.

Straka was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and was issued a summons for Failure to Yield to Right of Way.

Traffic was backed up in the area around the time of the collision.

  The accident remains under investigation.
