TOMS RIVER — A township woman is facing multiple charges after police found stolen and illegal firearms at her home, authorities said.

35-year-old Britney Garbinski was charged with theft, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of an assault firearm, and possession of high-capacity magazines, according to Toms River police.

Officers were called to her Westfield Drive home shortly before 12:30 p.m. on July 20 for a report of a disorderly person possibly armed.

A family member confirmed Garbinski had weapons in the home, and she later admitted to possessing several firearms, police said.

Garbinski directed officers to her bedroom, where they found a handgun reported stolen from North Carolina, an assault-style rifle, and several high-capacity magazines.

She was arrested and taken to a local hospital for evaluation, with plans for transfer to the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
