TOMS RIVER — A large sinkhole that disrupted traffic near Merrimac Drive and Warren Point Drive on July 14 has been repaired, according to the Toms River Police Department.

Authorities said the sinkhole, believed to be caused by a water leak, led to limited access on several nearby streets including Seaman Court, Ship Court, Pinta Court, and Mizzen Road. Police redirected traffic while crews from the local water company responded to address the leak.

Access to the Toms River Municipal Pool at Snug Harbor and the township’s Recreation Department has since been fully restored.
