Suspicious Incident In Toms River Over, Roads Are Open Again

TOMS RIVER – Fischer Boulevard and Hooper Avenue are now reopened after police gave the all clear.

Toms River Police told Jersey Shore Online they received a call around 11 a.m. about a suspicious package at the bus shelter at the corner of Fischer and Hooper. Out of an “abundance of caution,” authorities decided to close down the area while they investigated.

Officials told Jersey Shore Online that New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad were on the scene and found no threat to be present.

Investigating detectives are John Turner, Louis Santora and John Bajcic.

A Nixle alert was sent out around 12:45 p.m.
