TOMS RIVER — A Toms River man admitted to cocaine distribution and weapons offenses following a months-long investigation that resulted in the seizure of drugs, a stolen handgun and cash, authorities said.
Ravonn Terry, 38, pleaded guilty Aug. 10 before Superior Court Judge Dina M. Vicari to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a handgun, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
The investigation, conducted between October 2025 and February 2026, focused on a Promise Avenue home that investigators said Terry used to store and sell cocaine.
Detectives conducting surveillance on Feb. 23 reportedly saw Terry leave the residence and enter the passenger side of a vehicle. Toms River police later stopped the vehicle and arrested Terry without incident.
Authorities then searched the Promise Avenue property under a court-approved warrant. Investigators recovered about 32 grams of cocaine, drug-distribution materials, $2,400 and a Smith & Wesson revolver that had been reported stolen, prosecutors said.
Terry has remained in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest.
At his sentencing Oct. 16, prosecutors plan to recommend a 10-year state prison term on the drug charge and a concurrent five-year sentence on the weapons charge. The gun sentence would require Terry to serve 42 months before becoming eligible for parole.
Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Alyssa Mandara is handling the case. The investigation involved the Stafford and Toms River police departments, Toms River’s Special Enforcement Team and the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression South Unit.
