Toms River Fire Being Probed By Authorities, No Injuries Reported

TOMS RIVER – Toms River Police have released more details about an early morning structure fire.

A fire broke out around 4:08 a.m. at 2345 Route 9, at Frank’s Business Park.

Police and Fire received a call from a passerby who saw flames and smoke in the area.

Pleasant Plains Fire Co. and Toms River Fire Dept. No. 2 responded. The fire was reportedly extinguished within the hour, and the businesses were ventilated. Some neighboring businesses suffered smoke damage.

There were no injuries.

Toms River Fire Bureau Investigator Richard Foster is on the scene. Preliminary reports are pointing to an accidental fire started in unit No. 5, Access Motor Cars.

The Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention, Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Toms River Police Department are investigating.
