TOMS RIVER – A man acting erratically, and talking about killing himself, was approached by police who brought him to a local hospital.

People called police at around 7:15 a.m. on June 8, stating that they saw him with a shotgun. Officers blocked traffic and secured the area, which was around Northampton Boulevard and Executive Drive.

Police said that when they arrived, the man got out of his truck and began walking around it. He told them that he had no intention of harming anyone but himself.

He was detained without incident by officers and brought to Community Medical Center for evaluation. Police found two shotguns in the truck, one of which was loaded.
