Ortley Beach Advocate Kenneth Langdon Dies

TOMS RIVER – Kenneth Langdon, who advocated for Ortley Beach residents, passed away at 85, his family said.

Langdon was active with the Ortley Beach Liaison Commission, and would speak about dune replenishment, the health of the beaches, and the quality of life in that section of town.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Chairman of the Veterans Day Parade Committee in Toms River, according to his obituary. He had spent summers in Ortley Beach since the 1950s, and moved here full time in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, two sons and their wives, Ken Jr. and Joanne of Acworth, Georgia and Jeff and Missy of North Brunswick, and two grandchildren, Anthony and Sarah.

There will be a Memorial Gathering on Wednesday Aug. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a service at 5 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 706 Grand Central Ave. Lavallette. Condolences may be sent to ryanfuneralhome.com.
