Ocean County Authorities Arrest Two In Shooting Deaths

TOMS RIVER – Two men have been charged with the murder of a Brick man at the Hampton Gardens apartment complex in Toms River.

Sevon Hill, 24, of Toms River, and Shakar “Anthony” Barksdale, 24, of Seaside Heights, were arrested and charged with murder, among other weapons and drug charges related to the death of Steven Stallworth.

Stallworth’s death was ruled a homicide by a single gunshot wound. He was found unresponsive outside the doorstep at the apartment complex on James Street around 10 p.m. March 5.

Hill and Barksdale were living in a local hotel, where on the night of the murder police found large quantities of heroin and cocaine. They relocated to another local hotel, where again police found large quantiles of drugs. The men conspired to kill Stallworth.

They are being lodged at Ocean County Jail without bail.
