OCEAN COUNTY — Organizers are inviting community members to attend a peaceful rally later this month in Toms River and Lakewood as part of a national movement called “No Kings.”
The events are scheduled for March 28 from noon to 2 p.m. outside the Veterans Affairs Clinic at 1055 Hooper Ave. in Toms River and at Route 70 at Airport Road in Lakewood. Participants say the gatherings are intended to express dissatisfaction with President Trump, current government leadership and policies while encouraging civic engagement.
Organizers describe the rallies as part of a broader movement that began in 2025 and has since expanded to communities across the country.
Supporters say the demonstrations are aimed at defending democratic principles and giving residents an opportunity to speak out about issues affecting their families and communities.

Those planning to attend are asked to register in advance so organizers can provide updates about any schedule changes or additional notices.
Event leaders emphasized that the rallies will follow a strict commitment to nonviolent action. Participants are encouraged to de-escalate any potential conflicts, follow the law and refrain from bringing weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted.
Accessibility accommodations will be available, including dedicated parking spaces and a wheelchair ramp. Organizers also noted that attendees should avoid parking in the church or bank lot across the street and instead use the nearby mall parking area.
