LAVALLETTE — Kelly’s Sea Bay Service Center will reopen Monday morning following damage caused by a windstorm Friday night that brought down a decorative canopy at the business, according to their Facebook page.
The service center is scheduled to open at 8 a.m. to accommodate customers who already have appointments booked for Monday and Tuesday. Employees will be on site to assist motorists as operations resume.
Fuel service is expected to restart later Monday, pending the completion of cleanup work and final checks, owner Paul Kelly said. Additional updates will be shared on their facebook page as repairs continue.
No injuries were reported during the incident which got social media talking – some rumors claimed the gas station was destroyed – which were not true.
In a message posted to Facebook after the storm, Kelly thanked the Lavallette community, longtime customers, family and friends for their support, as well as local first responders who assisted at the scene. He noted the business, which has served the community for more than four decades, has overcome challenges before and will do so again.
