TOMS RIVER – Michael Reilly, a 1991 graduate of Toms River High School South and owner of ServPro in Toms River has lost his battle against COVID-19.

Michael was known for inspiring and helping others within the community. In 2019, he serviced a school district and when the job was complete, he gave gift cards to all the custodians. He also picked up the tab for his classmates at their 20-year high school reunion.

Sheriff Michael Mastronardy and the entire staff at the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office gave their condolences to the family and shared their memories of Michael. During the early days of this pandemic, Michael and his co-workers helped with the cleaning the squad’s vehicles and buildings to keep everyone safe.

They ask for the community to pray for Michael’s wife, his two children and his family.

Shortly after the news broke, many took to social media to remember him.

Written by East Dover Fire Dept:
To say we are saddened by this news wouldn’t be enough… Toms River lost another good person…..After Superstorm Sandy, our building took in nearly 4ft of water and forced us out. The owner of Servpro Toms River came in and said “what do you need and how can I help”. He came in with his crews and got us back into our building. This allowed us to continue protecting the citizens of East Dover and Toms River.

A few years later we were going through one of the hottest summers on record. We made a post requesting donations of drinking water. If anyone would like to donate water to us it would be greatly appreciated. This man had a pallet of water delivered not only to us, but to each fire company in Toms River and our Training center.

Fast forward to May of this year. During the 1st wave of the Pandemic, again without being asked or prompted he helped set up a fleet decontamination station at the Ocean County Mall. He set this up for all of Toms River and surrounding towns to bring their fleet in. He did this to help protect us so we could protect you the citizens. This is just a snippet of what this man did for not only us, but his community.

Michael Reilly, thank you for everything you did for us throughout the years. Your selflessness will never be forgotten.
