TOMS RIVER – All she probably wanted was a nice breakfast but a teenager’s attempt to park at a local diner landed her in a ditch on the morning of Feb. 5.

The 17-year-old township driver was attempting to park in front of the Crystal Diner, 2 Route 37 East, around 10:50 a.m. when, according to a police report, she accelerated forward striking the curb, the chain link fence and came to rest in the embankment.

Police were dispatched to the scene of the accident and an investigation by Toms River Traffic Safety Officer Robert Westfall is continuing.
