TOMS RIVER – A crash injured a driver and flipped a car over just before rush hour.
Police spokeswoman Jillian Messina told JerseyShoreOnline.com that the crash took place at around 4:30 p.m. on January 14 near the intersection of Route 37 and Garfield Avenue.
Investigators learned that Antonio Thomas Jr., 26, of Toms River, was heading south on Garfield when Carlos Castillo, 49, of Brick, made a left turn from the right lane. When he passed in front of Thomas’ car, they collided, and Castillo’s vehicle overturned.
Thomas was brought to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment.
Castillo was charged with Careless Driving, Driving Without A License, and Making An Illegal Turn. The accident is being investigated by Toms River Police Officer Scott Devecka. Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
