ISLAND HEIGHTS – Join Island Heights for Founder’s Day on July 28! This year marks the 140th anniversary of the incorporation of the Island Heights Association.

The parade will launch from the Pavilion at Central and River Aves. At 11 a.m., marching along to Memorial Field. Local organizations like the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Island Heights First Aid Squad, Island Heights Elementary School Band, Central Regional JROTC, Central Regional Band & Color Guard and both the Girl and Boy Scouts will all take part in the parade.

You can join in the fun as well! Local families are invited to participate in the parade and the day’s events at the Founder’s Day Fair. The fair will take place at Memorial Field from 12-6 p.m. featuring vendors, food trucks, and fun activities for the children. Not only this, but WOBM will be present with games and Island Heights trivia for children.

Not to worry, there are still openings for craft and food vendors! If interested, you can find registration information at the Island Heights Founders Day event on Facebook, facebook.com/events/1021203291351888/.

While the celebration will take place at Memorial Field, various organizations will host their own events throughout the town. Come see a performance by The Top Hats at the Pavilion or enjoy some cake and coffee at the Island Heights Yacht Club! You can find a schedule of events and locations on the Facebook event page closer to the event.

The evening before the fair on July 27, 2018, the Island Heights United Methodist Church will hold a Camp Meeting Revival Service at 7 p.m. at the Camp Meeting Grounds on Ocean Avenue.

The Island Heights United Methodist Church will also hold their monthly breakfast open to the public, prior to the parade beginning at 8 a.m. at the church.
