Accident Sends Ortley Beach Bicyclist To The Hospital

ORTLEY BEACH – An Ortley Beach man was rushed to a local hospital after being struck by a car.

On June 27, Kenneth Spinelli, 57, was riding his bicycle and attempted to cross Route 35 South when he was struck by a 2003 Ford Taurus, driven by Christopher Serafin, 28, of Kenilworth.

Ocean County Scanner News reported last night that Tri-Boro First Aid, Seaside Park, responded to the scene.

Spinelli was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, by medevac helicopter.

He sustained head injuries but was reported by Toms River Police in stable condition.

Police are still investigating the crash. No charges have been filed against either the cyclist or motorist at this time.
