STAFFORD – A driver lost control of his car, crashing into a tree, police said, resulting in the death of a passenger.
Jeydon Lowe, 24, of Barnegat was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt east on Stafford Avenue near Hilliard Boulevard at a high rate of speed, police said. He lost control of the car trying to negotiate a right turn and the rear of the car struck a tree. The incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on March 25.
Lowe received minor injuries and was treated at Southern Ocean County Medical Center, police said. His passenger, Robert Parlin, 24, of Little Egg Harbor, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit, Stafford Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
