
STAFFORD – A Waretown woman has been charged in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars in jewelry from a Stafford Township home, police said.
Detectives arrested 33-year-old Katelynn Stanfield of Chestnut Street, Waretown, following a two-month investigation with assistance from Long Beach Township Police and Ocean Township (Waretown) Police.
Investigators determined Stanfield stole about $6,000 worth of assorted jewelry while working as a residential cleaner at the home, according to Stafford Township Police.
She was charged with third-degree theft by unlawful taking and third-degree fencing, or dealing in stolen property. Stanfield was released on a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear in Ocean County Superior Court.
Detective Zac Halliday was the arresting officer.
Police noted that arrest photos are not released, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
