STAFFORD – A Whiting man is facing multiple charges after police said he broke into a vehicle in Manahawkin and used stolen debit cards to make fraudulent purchases.

Police arrested Edward J. Meinwieser, 42, of Hudson Parkway, on September 8 following an investigation into a burglary on Patty Joe Lane four days earlier. Investigators said cash and debit cards were taken from the vehicle and later used at Home Depot in Manahawkin.

Meinwieser was processed at Stafford Township Police Headquarters and taken to the Ocean County Jail. He is charged with theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, credit card theft, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The investigation was led by Patrolman Austin S. Rauch.

Authorities noted that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Arrest photos are not released by Stafford Township Police.
