Two Charged After Drug Probe Leads To Early-Morning Arrests

STAFFORD – Two Manahawkin residents were charged with drug offenses following a months-long narcotics investigation that ended with the execution of a search warrant, authorities said.

The investigation, conducted by the Stafford Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, culminated around 5:30 a.m. on January 30 at an apartment in the 200 block of Back Road. Police said the search uncovered methamphetamine and items commonly associated with drug use.

Tahj M. Tyler, 22, and Jennifer A. Wilchak, 32, were taken into custody at the scene.

According to police, Tyler was charged with possession with intent to distribute less than one-half ounce of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilchak was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both defendants were processed and released on complaint summonses pending future court appearances in Ocean County Superior Court.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
