Truck Vs. Motorcycle Crash Leaves One Man Dead

EGG HARBOR – A 54-year-old township man died following a crash on Zion Road earlier today.

  Township Police responded at 11:45 a.m. to the area of Zion Road and Central Avenue, in the Bargaintown section of town, to investigate a collison.

  Joseph Falcone was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was travelling west on Zion Road when a 2012 Ford F450 truck, operated by William Wellington, 39, Egg Harbor Township, attempted to make a left turn onto Central Avenue. 

  The truck crossed into the path of the motorcycle and the crash occurred resulting in Falcone sustaining multiple injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else involved in the crash was injured. 

  Zion Road was shut down and detoured for approximately three  hours while the accident was being investigated and cleared.

  Sergeant Lawrence Graham, Officer Robert Moran, and Officer Louis Poletis of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit are continuing their investigation of the crash.
