Stafford Crash Involving Construction Trailer Injures One

STAFFORD – An 89-year-old Manahawkin man was taken to a local hospital after he crashed into a construction trailer Monday, July 16.

Adolph Schlesinger was driving his Hyundai Elantra on Charles Boulevard, approaching Lawrence Drive, when he began to drift right. He struck the construction trailer, which was parked legally on the shoulder, owned by AMON Construction. His airbags deployed. Police determined he wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of impact.

Schlesinger was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with a head injury. Police say his condition is unknown.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for about 45 minutes while police directed traffic and the car was towed.
