Southern Wildfire Now Completely Contained

  LITTLE EGG HARBOR – The 617-acre wildfire that’s been ablaze throughout portions of Little Egg Harbor Township and Bass River State Forest in Burlington County has now been completely contained.

  The New Jersey Forest Fire Service announced that they achieved 100 percent containment of the wildfire. Crew members are still on site for cleanup and to maintain public safety.

  Residents should be aware that smoke is expected to remain in the area for several days due to warm and dry weather conditions.

  Officials have reported no injuries, structures damaged or evacuations conducted. At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
