LITTLE EGG HARBOR – A couple spent their Super Bowl Sunday welcoming their baby boy after he unexpectedly arrived early.

Gabrielle Castrovinci stated how she was feeling contractions the night before, but doctors told her it was false labor pains. Her water broke Sunday morning and her fiancée Matt Chandler quickly called for an ambulance. The Little Egg Harbor Township Police arrived minutes later and helped deliver the baby safely.

“Super Bowl Sunday in Little Egg did not disappoint,” the Little Egg Harbor/Tuckerton P.B.A wrote on Facebook.

Officers John Kelly, Steve Mancine, Eric Nelson and Jonathan Papernik all helped welcoming baby Carter Michael Chandler. Volunteer members of Squad 85 EMS were also involved with the safe delivery.

“I had a feeling it was going to happen. I told Matt weeks ago that it’s going to happen during the Super Bowl and he was so excited for it,” Gabrielle told NBC Philadelphia.

Super Bowl baby Carter arrived at 37 weeks and is healthy and doing well thanks to LEH Police.
