BARNEGAT – A joint investigation by the Barnegat Township Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit has resulted in the arrest of a West Creek man on multiple child exploitation charges.

Authorities said Aiden Grady, 22, was taken into custody and charged with distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material, as well as computer criminal activity. Investigators allege Grady shared explicit images through Snapchat conversations and also stored such material on his cellphone.

Detectives further determined that Grady gained unauthorized access to an educational database and communicated with a student, according to prosecutors.

With the school year underway, law enforcement officials reminded parents to closely monitor their children’s cell phone activity and to be mindful of the risks associated with social media platforms.

All charges are accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
