STAFFORD — A Manahawkin resident has been charged after police said he allegedly stole customers’ credit card information while working at a local fast-food restaurant and later used it to make unauthorized online purchases.

According to the Stafford Township Police Department, detectives arrested Dupreme J. Holland, 25, on December 30 following an investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau. Holland faces three counts of credit card theft and three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, all second-degree offenses.

Investigators allege the thefts occurred on December 15 while Holland was working the drive-through window at a Wendy’s restaurant on Route 72 West in Manahawkin.

Police said Holland is accused of obtaining customers’ credit card information during transactions and later using that information to complete unauthorized purchases online.

Holland was processed at police headquarters and transported to the Ocean County Jail.

He has since been released.

Police emphasized that as with all criminal matters, the charges are accusations, and Holland is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
