LACEY – A man allegedly carrying a ghost gun and hollow point ammunition is now facing weapon charges as well as drug charges.

Aidan Marshall, 19, of Lacey was being watched by officers as part of an investigation into firearms and narcotics distribution, police said. On May 15, he was seen leaving his home with a small bag. When police tried to make contact, he allegedly ran into the woods and ditched the bag.

Marshall was found underneath some brush and was arrested without further incident. Police said they found the bag, which contained a homemade ghost gun, with an extended magazine and hollow point ammo.

Following that, they executed a search warrant on the home, finding a quantity of Xanax and approximately $5,500, police said.

He was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Handgun by a Person Under the Age of 21, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a High Capacity Ammunition Magazine, Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition, Possession of Xanax with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Xanax, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction of Justice.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer commended the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Lacey Township Police Department, Lacey Township Police Department Detective Bureau, Lakewood Township Police Department K-9 Unit, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
