Local Man Arrested On Drugs, Weapon Charges

  BARNEGAT – Two people have been arrested for drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a weapon and much more.

  On October 12 at 1:54 a.m., The Barnegat Police Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force and Ocean County Regional SWAT Team performed a “No Knock” search warrant at 46 Village Drive.

  During the investigation, police discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a Colt .38 caliber revolver loaded with hollow point ammunition.

  Resident Naquan Bennett, 29, was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow point ammunition, certain persons not to have a firearm, possession of marijuana less than 50 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Naquan Bennett is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

  The other individual Jamilee Bennett, 23, of Hazleton, PA was charged with possession of marijuana less than 50 grams and was released pending a court date.

  Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
